Bemidji, Minn. --Ted Belisle scored a pair of goals, including a shorthanded goal, as Bemidji State skated to a 5-2 victory over Wayne State (Mich.) Friday at John Glas Fieldhouse.

Following Belisle's first goal in the second period, which gave Bemidji State a 2-1 lead, Scot Dickson stole the puck off of Warrior goaltender David Guerrera's stick from behind the net and scored a wrap-around, shorthanded goal for the game-winner at 9:25 of the same period.

Stefan Bjork started the scoring for the Beavers at the 4:26 mark of the first period with an assist from senior Dan Pelletier and Says Phrakonkham for a 1-0 lead after one.

Wayne State got on the board at 2:04 of the second period with a goal from Keith Stanich, assisted by Dustin Kingston.

Senior captain Calvin Chartrand came from behind the net to slide Daryl Bat's drop pass between the pipes at 11:17 of the second, beating Guerrera stick side for a 4-1 BSU lead. Bjork set up the play from the blue line.

Kingston cut the lead to 4-2 with a goal at 4:35 of the third period with assists going to Jason Durbin and Nick Stodgell. The Warrior comeback fell short when Belisle scored a shorthanded goal as the Beavers killed off the eighth and final power play of the night for WSU.

Bob Tallarico stopped 24-of-26 shots for his seventh win of the season for BSU. Guerrera made 28 saves for the Warriors.

The Beavers (11-15-1, 8-7-1 CHA) host the Warriors (10-11-2) for game two of the series Saturday at John Glas Fieldhouse. Face off is set for 7:05 p.m. Seniors Calvin Chartrand, Dan Pelletier, Jay Hanson and Adam Pavlatos will participate in their final home game for BSU.
