The win moves the Purple Eagles to 13-5-1 on the season and 6-0-1 in the CHA. The Falcons drop to 9-8-2, 1-4-0 in the CHA.
Air Force opened the scoring while on the power play at the 4:12 mark of the second period, when Brian Gornick knocked in a rebound off a Brian Reaney shot that hit the post.
The lead was short-lived as the Purple Eagles came back to tie the goal on the power play 11 minutes later. John Heffernan was able to beat Marc Kielkucki on a one-timer from the faceoff circle to the goaltender's right.
The Purple Eagles took the lead with 1:11 remaining in the game when Sebastian notched his fourth of the season. John Maksymiu won the faceoff back to Timo Makela, who put the puck on net and Sebastian was able to capitalize for his first career game-winning goal.
Niagara put the game away 10 seconds later when Mikko Sivonen tallied his ninth goal of the season.
"It was a terrific win which tested our persistence, patience and maturity in handling many opportunities to score goals, but nothing to show for it by putting the red light on," said Purple Eagle head coach Blaise MacDonald. "Air Force played a great road game and because of their culture and coaching, they may bend but never break, and we respect that."
Niagara goalie Greg Gardner made five saves for the win while Kielkucki made 45 saves.
"They are a possession team with a lot of maturity and experience," said Falcon head coach Frank Serratore. "I didn't think it was a dominating as it was on the stats. They did control the puck and we weren't able to take many shots on their goalie.
"Kielkucki gave us a chance to win tonight and that is all you can ask. They had the puck for a lot of the game. We did what we thought we had to do in the game. We stayed close, kept the score low and had a chance to win late."
The two teams meet again Monday night.
